We are thrilled to announce that we embarked on an exciting and challenging project involving the empowerment of our driver monitoring system, the N2U HIRA DMS, by enabling automotive services and features.
BACKGROUND
Driven by the technical evolution that has led to next-generation technology platforms, the automotive market is experiencing a phase of extreme dynamism. The concept of the automobile itself has changed, from a simple vehicle to a full-fledged provider of services and functionalities. Consider the telemonitoring for diagnostic purposes; the self-adaptive on-board instrumentation; the customization of the vehicle environments, driving experience and insurance services; the driver assistance features introduced by third-level ADAS devices.
Enabling these services and features requires that continuous, real-time monitoring of the driver must be performed, as N2U HIRA DMS already does.
It’s crucial in this context, to ensure the security and privacy aspects of data, without negatively impacting the performance of on-board instrumentation and/or the quality of the vehicle user experience.
WHAT WE WILL DO
Through a series of collaborations with prestigious partner specialized in cybersecurity, we will develop an innovative security layer which will endow the N2U HIRA DMS and that will make it compliant with current, and upcoming, European regulations in terms of privacy and personal data protection, in an automotive-grade architecture.
IMPACTS
Thanks to the empowered N2U HIRA DMS, it will be possible to meet the needs of the automotive market, consisting in enabling services and functionalities “driver-tailored”. Among them:
enabling third-level ADAS (autonomous driving);
provision of services automotive-oriented (i.e. assurance services);
personalization of the driving experience based on the driver’s psychological state;
implementation of strategies to minimize the energy impact caused by driving;
security of personal data.
