EMPOWERING MOBILIY WITH AFFECTIVE COMPUTING FOR SMART WHEELCHAIRS

Welcome to the E-MOTIVE Project, a pioneering initiative inspired by the success of Pharaon’s Italian pilots. At its core, E-MOTIVE is driven by the primary aim of developing advanced technological solutions to support and enhance the autonomous mobility of individuals. Beyond mere assistance, the project extends its focus to evaluating the health condition of users and monitoring their affective states. This innovative approach positions E-MOTIVE at the forefront of elder care, aiming to redefine the standards for autonomous living.

The project places a strong emphasis on interoperability, seeking to establish seamless integration between commercially available devices and Pharaon’s affiliated solutions. This collaborative ecosystem prioritizes Internet of Things (IoT) services such as IoTool and SenLab, alongside a health monitoring application (RRD eHealth) linked to the Cloud. By promoting interoperability, E-MOTIVE aims to create a cohesive network that maximizes the potential of these technologies.

E-motive highlights

A key highlight of the E-MOTIVE project is the integration of a Physiological Computational Module (PCM) developed by N2U. Combined with RGB and Infrared Cameras and AI algorithms for affective computing, this module enables the system to comprehend and respond to the emotional and physiological needs of users. The smart wheelchair, designed by UNIVPM, serves as the physical embodiment of these technological advancements, offering autonomous or user-controlled navigation.
