A great accomplishment for Next2U, which was involved in a research effort aimed at endowing social robots with better human-like interaction with the interlocutor. By the means of thermal imaging and thermal signal analysis, Next2U evaluated the psychophysiological state of the subject and provided a commercial educational social robot with the capability of assessing the emotions of the interlocutor. This approach was found to be reliable and effective.
The research paper is out now on the world’s firsts scholarly publication on social robotics, the prestigious International Journal of Social Robotics. Read it on the journal site.
